It was a hard fought game, but the Kings came out on top and won two precious points on the road against division rivals the Anaheim Ducks.

Anne Kopitar, who signed a huge contract extension on Saturday scored the game winning goal and it looks like the Kings' new acquisitions are immediately paying off, Vincent Lecavalier scored his 2nd power play goal in 2 games. Kopitar has now 20 points in his last 15 games and head coach Darryl Sutter is happy that Kopitar's contract extension is a done deal:

"There's been a little but too much talk around our team the last couple weeks about new players and contracts and all of that. We're trying to make the playoffs. We were playing tonight a team that won the [Pacific] Division last year and went to the [western] Conference finals, so to think that you're going to have momentum the whole game or anything like that, it's not."

Kopitar praised Vincent Lecavalier addition to the club:

"He's done a lot for us. Maybe it doesn't show on the scoresheet, but those little plays he makes; he takes a lot of faceoffs, especially in our zone too, which usually turn out to be very, very big plays. So it's been nice to have him."

Jonathan Quick made 30 saves on the night and continued his stellar season.
