Kings reject Oilers’ ridiculous demands and trade falls through!

We can understand why L.A. backed out at the last second!

Jesse Puljujarvi has been on the trade block ever since he placed himself there, asking the Edmonton Oilers to move him to another NHL franchise in order to get a fresh start in the league. Puljujarvi’s agent is Markus Lehto, who told GM Ken Holland several weeks ago that Puljujarvi would like to be traded, has made it clear that his client wants out, but the general manager revealed a few weeks ago that he does not feel like he must oblige. It will all depend on the interest for Puljujarvi and the possible return for his services.

However, Holland may be feeling the heat now, and might have made a mistake in a deal with the Los Angeles Kings to move the young forward.

According to Dennis Bernstein of The Fourth Period, the Oilers might have found a taker in the Kings for Puljujarvi, but the deal fell through because Edmonton made a ridiculous demand:

They wanted the Kings to take on Lucic’s contract as well!

Holland might have thought that the Kings would have love to be reunited with Lucic, who spent a season in Los Angeles before signing as a free agent in Edmonton. It sure seems like the Kings aren’t interested in a reunion…

We get it: Puljujarvi was drafted fourth overall by the Oilers in 2016, but the kid has not impressed ever since he stepped on NHL ice. He’s played 139 NHL games and has just 37 points.

This was a ridiculous demands by the Oilers, who now have to look elsewhere to make a deal happen for Puljujarvi…
