The Vegas Golden Knights owner Bill Foley predicted his team would win a Stanley Cup within the first six years of the new franchise. Many thought it was silly of him to say so, but no one expected the Knights to do so well in their inaugural season.

The plan was believed to be the following: GM George McPhee would move top forwards James Neal and David Perron before the Trade deadline, in return for young promising prospects and high draft picks.

However, now Neal and Perron are his best players, and the Knights are now in contention for a playoff spot. Perron even revealed that the players have an idea in mind to change the GM's original plan.

We know what kind of team we have,” Perron said to the Las Vegas Sun. “We have to keep winning if we want to maybe force a few decisions from George (McPhee) to maybe keep a few guys around.”

TSN’s Bob McKenzie said last week that McPhee is already getting calls for Neal and Perron, but things might change now that they're providing so much for the team.
