Washington Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov’s reputation took a bad hit this summer when he was banned by the International Ice Hockey Federation and suspended by the NHL for testing positive to cocaine during the at the World championship this summer.

However, the Russian player remains a nice guy and it was revealed how much he was on Tuesday ahead of the game between the Caps and the Maple Leafs in Toronto.

According to Lance Hornby, Kuznetsov met with Leafs’ right wing Ilya Mikheyev to get him some advice. The 25-year-old rookie understands English, but doesn’t speak it.

Kuznetsov felt bad to know that - as he was once at his beginnings in American - Mikheyev feels like a dog and he wanted to let him know it would get better.

“Right now, he’s like a dog. He understands, but he can not speak”.

When they face off later on tonight, we are pretty sure insults and taunts will be said in Russian, however, it remains great to see two Russian players helping each other overseas.
