As you probably know, Kyle Turris is no longer a Ottawa Senators. The 28-year old forward has been traded to the Colorado Avalanche, and then to the Nashville Predators on November 6th.  On Monday, his wife Julia and him wrote a heartfelt letter to the Senators fans to thank them for their support over the six full seasons he played there.

«As we wrap up our time in Ottawa, we would be remiss if we didn’t’ mention the fans and media in this town. I got to live out the dream of every Canadian boy who wonders what it would be like to score an overtime goal on home ice in the Stanley Cup playoffs. It’s a feeling I was lucky enough to experience three times, yet I still struggle for the right words to describe it.

It’s an adrenaline rush like no other thing I’ve experienced on the ice. I felt like I could have lifted a car over my head when the crowd went crazy and cheered. When I think of Ottawa fans, I’ll always remember those playoff goals and how much you truly care for your Senators. Playing in a Canadian market is everything I could have dreamed of and more.» - Kyle Turris

Kyle Turris was drafted third overall by the Phoenix Coyotes in 2007. He played four seasons with that organisation before the Senators acquired him via trade on 2011. In 545 games played in the NHL, the New Westminster, British Columbia native registered 322 points. He added 27 points in 46 playoff games.

The Predators acquired him on November 6th in a three-way blockbuster deal that also made Matt Duchene become a Ottawa Senators member.

In his first game played with the Preds, Turris scored a goal and added an assist.
