Andrew Ladd has already been fitting in nicely on a line with Jonathan Toews since being acquired by the Hawks. His role with the Blackhawks has changed since last time he was there and he is already making an impact.

Tonight Ladd scored his first goal after he put home a rebound. Duncan Keith fired a shot that Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek couldn't handle with Toews and Ladd in front of the net. After a few seconds of battling, Mrazek made a great save initially on Ladd but then Ladd was able to put the puck past Mrazek into the open net. Ladd will be looked upon to be a big presence in front of the net, especially when Marian Hossa returns and takes his spot on the first line. Ladd is definitely an upgrade on Andrew Shaw, not to take anything away from Shaw.

It is definitely great to see it didn't take long for Ladd to fit in on the left of side of Jonathan Toews. But really, how hard can it be playing with one of the best players of the game, who leads by example every night.

Hopefully this will be something we will see regularly.
