The rumors swirling around the National Hockey League have strongly suggested that a trade from the Colorado Avalanche involving star forward Matt Duchene is almost certainly inevitable, however that likelihood may have just increased even more.

Duchene's agent Pat Brisson was once again pressed for comment on Wednesday, and once again it was regarding a potential training camp hold out from Duchene if a trade is not made, and Brisson's answer was anything but reassuring.

"Nothing to say at this point"," said Brisson as per Avalanche insider Adrian Dater.

Most have now speculated that if Duchene's intention were to report Brisson would have confirmed as much by now, leading many to believe that Duchene will indeed hold out and force the hand of Avalanche general manager Joe Sakic.

While players usually receive a great deal of hate from fans when they choose to go down this path, in the case of Duchene it's understandable given how public the topic of him being traded has been for several months now. Especially when you add to that the fact that t he Avalanche were such a bad team last season.
