The frustration has finally boiled over it seems.

On Thursday in an article published for The Athletic, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Frankie Corrado finally let his frustration show when he semeingly called out Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock for not playing him. According to Corrado the reason for him sitting out most of the season, despite the fact that management felt he was worth picking up, has been a simple case of Babcock not liking him.

“I talked to Lou and he’s been supportive with me,” Corrado said as per David Alter. “He told me he likes me, and he wants me here. It does make me feel better about the situation, but at the end of the day, the coach is the one who makes the lineup and if the coach doesn’t like you, then you’re not going to play. And that’s where I’m at right now.”

It's hard not to feel for the 23-year-old, he is at a stage where he should be developing his skills in the National Hockey League, and he has had the opportunity to play in just a single game this season, and with the Leafs refusing to trade or waive him it's easy to see why he's lost patience.

“Everyone on our back end gets a chance to play except me,” Corrado said.  “I’d love to play. I had a good camp. I put on ten pounds in the summer. I sacrificed a lot to earn a job here when there might not have been one for me. I’m sure Holly’s situation was similar in ways, but for me, it’s really frustrating right now.”

What's more is Corrado feels that the Maple Leafs, and perhaps specifically Babcock himself, are denying him an oppurtunity to maximize his potential and by extension earn a living.

"It’s time to have a career. I feel like the more I’m not playing, that’s food off my table. That’s kind of the way I see it right now.”

This one is far from over.
