Earlier today Bleacher Report's Adrian Dater reported that the Maple Leafs were suddenly in on Colorado Avalanche forwards Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog, and some guest appearances tonight appear to lend a great deal of credibility to his report.

Associated Press reporter Joe Yerdon has learned that Toronto Maple Leafs assistant general manager Kyle Dubas is on hand tonight at the First Niagra Center flanked by two additional scouts form the Leafs organization.

All three men are in the building to watch the Sabres play the Colorado Avalanche and, while this is merely speculation, it would seem likely that they are there specifically to scout the Avalanche.

Also of note, five other teams had two scouts on hand including the Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames Los Angeles Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets.
