The Toronto Maple Leafs are more than happy to celebrate the return of forward Mitch Marner, who comes back to action tonight against the Colorado Avalanche.

However, Cap Friendly reveals that they are down to just $42,000 in cap space with a 21-man roster, which means another move will be coming to Toronto.

On top of that, Trevor Moore, who is currently on the long-term injury reserve, will be eligible to return during the Western Canada trip next week. When he does, another player will have to go.

After losing Nick Shore to the Winnipeg Jets on waivers on Wednesday, the Leafs will have to be smart about the move they choose to make which prompted team insider James Mirtle of The Athletic to predict that Pierre Engvall will be the one to go.

However, luckily for the Leafs, he doesn’t require waivers and will be sent down without the risk of losing him.

Fans might be disappointed to hear that Engvall is likely the one who will move, but it seems like the most logical move to make.

It could all depend on Moore’s return to action and what happens until then.

We never know: general manager Kyle Dubas could always be working on something else…
