In case you missed it, Montreal Canadiens superstar goaltender Carey Price has announced that he will NOT participate in the upcoming 2019 NHL All Star game in San Jose, California.

With Price bowing out, it was expected that Toronto Maple Leafs starter Frederik Andersen would take Price’s spot with the Atlantic Division, but NHL insider Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports that Andersen is NOT in consideration due to his groin injury.

The 29 year old Andersen has been rock solid again for the Leafs this season with 20 wins in 30 starts. He sports a sparkling 2.50 goals against average and a remarkable .923 save percentage.

Other goalies in consideration for Price’s now vacant spot are other Atlantic Division goaltenders like Tuukka Rask of the Boston Bruins, Andrei Vasilevsky of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Roberto Luongo of the Florida Panthers.
