Toronto Maple Leafs forward Andreas Johnsson left Thursday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights due to a leg injury and did not return...

Johnsson was injured during the second period of the contest, after an awkward collision with Golden Knights blue liner Brayden McNabb. McNabb was assessed a two-minute penalty on the play, however, the Leafs lost their player for the remainder of the game... Many fans are calling the hit a knee-on-knee collision. McNabb wasn't too worried about it, as he was seen smiling from the penalty box following the hit.

What we know is that Johnston had to be helped off the ice, and was not putting weight on that leg. After the contest, team insider James Mirtle of The Athletic noted that he saw the Leafs forward leaving the T-Mobile arena on crutches.

While there were no additional details on Johnsson by the Leafs' management or head coach Mike Babcock following Toronto's 6-3 win, teammate Auston Matthews was quick to inform media that Johnsson's injury was not that serious. Babcock only added that Tyler Ennis is "dying to get in" the lineup...

It remains to be seen if No. 34 is right and if Johnsson can take on the Coyotes in Arizona on Saturday.

Johnsson scored his 15th goal of the season earlier in the game. The 24-year-old has 16 assists to go with the 15 goals in 51 games this season...
