Leafs’ Keefe flips out at the ref and starts swearing at him!

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe wants respect, but he sure had a weird way of commanding it on Wednesday night in the game against the Rangers in New York. 

When the referee was near the Leafs’ bench towards the end of the contest, Keefe wanted more explanation on a call, but it looked like the official did not have anything else to tell him or wanted to hear what he had to say. 

So? 

The referee simply skated away from the team’s bench but that did not sit will with Keefe, who flipped out and started swearing at the official. 

“Don’t f___ing skate away. If you want to talk, talk… don’t f-ing skate away!”

The Leafs fell 5-3 to the Rangers and you could tell it was another hard blow to the team, who recently lost starting goalie Frederik Andersen to a neck injury.

Michael Hutchinson got the start and did not manage to do the job… we wonder if Keefe spoke to him like that in the dressing room after the loss. And it pushed the Leafs to proceed to a late night trade to acquire Jack Campbell and Kyle Clifford from the Los Angeles Kings...
