In case you missed it last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs threw up an absolute egg of a third period last night against the Florida Panthers.

The Leafs, who are in a tight race with the Panthers for a playoff spot in the NHL’s Atlantic division, dropped four unanswered goals to the Panthers to earn a brutal 5-3 loss. To make matters even worse though, the Leafs also lost starting goaltender Frederik Andersen after this collission:

Andersen managed to finish the first period, but did not return for the second period.

The Leafs haven’t provided an official update on Andersen’s health just yet, but suffice it to say that it would be a MASSIVE loss for the team if he’s out for any significant length of time. Head coach Sheldon Keefe confirmed however that Andersen does NOT have a concussion.

Check it out:

Stay tuned. More to come, Leafs fans.

This just in, the Leafs have recalled goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

That likely doesn’t bode well for Andersen’s quick return. Again stay tuned, Leafs fans.
