Leafs make two roster moves, call up Petan

This just in, the Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled forward Nic Petan from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. They’ve also loaned rookie defenseman Timothy Liljegren to the Marlins, as well.

Check it out:

The 24 year old Petan was placed on waivers earlier this week as the team prepared its opening night roster for yesterday’s win over the Ottawa Senators. He played five games for the Leafs last season after coming over from the Winnipeg Jets. In 113 career NHL games split between the Leafs and Jets, Petan has six goals and 24 points.

As for Liljegren, the 20 year old rookie defenseman made the Leafs’ opening night roster, but watched yesterday’s game from the press box in favour of fellow rookie Rasmus Sandin. Liljegren has played the past two seasons with the Marlies after being selected 17th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
