Toronto Maple Leafs new head coach Sheldon Keefe is already focused on his second game in the NHL as his team takes on the Avalanche in Denver on Saturday.

While the new bench boss hopes to build on last night’s 3-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes, he still made a change to his lineup for tomorrow’s contest.

Why? Well, it appears that Keefe is a sentimental guy and might get the respect and the best out of his players that way. Keefe has decided to insert Nick Shore in the lineup and leave Nic Petan out.

Keefe wants to have Shore on board because: he is from Denver and it’s important for the head coach to use a local product on his roster.

Players will notice this type of attention and will only have more respect for their new boss.

The Leafs released a video of the postgame celebrations after Keefe’s first NHL win and you can tell there is a new vibe in the Leafs’ room. This side of Keefe’s personality will be a great asset for the team.
