The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Friday that the team has acquired forward Denis Malgin from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Mason Marchment.

Malgin is a 23-year-old forward who has recorded four goals and 12 points in 36 games with the Panthers this season. In 184 career regular season NHL games, he has collected a total of 60 points.

He was selected by Florida in the fourth round, 102nd overall of the 2015 NHL Draft.

As for Marchment, he played for the Marlies in 2015 and 2016 before being traded to the Orlando Solar Bears where he played for a year before coming back to the Marlies.

The Leafs called him up last month where he played three games for the team before returning back to the Marlies. He took part in one more contest with the Leafs prior to the trade in which he posted an assist.

In the 24 games he’s played for the Marlies this season, Marchment scored 13 goals and added five assists.
