In case you missed it last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs threw up an absolute egg of a third period last night against the Florida Panthers.

The Leafs, who are in a tight race with the Panthers for a playoff spot in the NHL’s Atlantic division, dropped four unanswered goals to the Panthers to earn a brutal 5-3 loss. To make matters even worse though, the Leafs also lost starting goaltender Frederik Andersen after this collission:

Andersen managed to finish the first period, but did not return for the second period.

Meanwhile, the Leafs have recalled goaltender Kasimir Kaskisuo from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Kaskisuo and Michael Hutchinson are manning the pipes for the Leafs’ practice today and it appears that Hutchinson will get the team’s next game.

As for Andersen, head coach Sheldon Keefe confirms that Andersen does NOT have a concussion, but is out day to day with a neck injury.

Again, more to come. Stay tuned, Leafs fans.
