Leafs rookie sets up an ugly goal but earns over $200,000 in the process.

If you're Toronto Maple Leafs rookie William Nylander, you're feeling pretty damn good about yourself this evening. Not only did Nylander's Maple Leafs walk away with an important 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils, but he also achieved two personal milestones.

During the first period with his team down a goal, Nylander found teammate Josh Levio open in front of the New Jersey net. Levio would eventually complete the play by banging the buck in on the rebound, earning Nylander his 35th assist of the season.

That assist made it 10 consecutive games with at least a point for Nylander, a new record among Toronto Maple Leafs rookies, beating a record that had stood for 73 years. Hitting the 35 assist mark was a financial milestone for Nylander, and according to Sportsnet insider Chris Johnston, one that has earned 20-year-old William Nylander $212,500.

Not a bad night at all.
