It might be a rough year for the St. Louis Blues, however, this news report might cheer them up.

The Blues will host the 2020 NHL All-Star Game, league sources have informed The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford.

The Blues last hosted the event on Feb. 9, 1988 in a game where the Wales Conference defeated the Campbell Conference 6-5 in overtime. Back in he day, the game was highlight by a marvelous performance by Pittsburgh Penguins legend Mario Lemieux. He broke the All-Star Game record for points that night, scoring six in total, including a hat trick as well as the overtime winner.

During that same event, former Montreal Canadiens' forward Mats Naslund also broke an All-Star Game record by registering five assists.

We can't say for sure that someone will write history in St. Louis, however, it is exciting news for the team that has been struggling since the start of the regular calendar this season.

2020 would mark the third time St. Louis has played host to the All-Star Game.
