A legendary former National Hockey League head coach may be heading up the Kontinental Hockey League's newest project in Beijing. China.

While there have been rumors over the past several days, TSN insider Darren Dreger is now reporting that head coach Mike Kennan is expected to take over as the bench boss for Red Star Kunlun beginning next season.

It's a huge new challenge for the man who has won it all at just about every level of the game, and challenges appear to be things he welcomes with open arms at this stage of his career.

While the deal is still not yet official, Dreger is reporting that the only step remaining is for the KHL to both approve and register Keenan's contract, as the deal has already been signed.
