The Lightning's Jonathan Drouin made a surprising admission on Friday, stating that he maybe some of things he did weren't in the right.

Drouin has been thrust back into the spotlight since Lightning forward Steven Stamkos was knocked out of the line up with an injury, and he has responded to the challenge in a major way. Drouin spoke to the media on Friday after his recent run of success as a seemingly integral part of the Lightning's first playoff game, and it was clear he feels some measure of remorse.

"I have a lot of stuff to prove to myself but to the staff and the team here," Drouin said. "Some things I did maybe [were] not [in] the right, but it's up to me to prove that and be sure I have their back and playing the right way."

Can this be salvaged?

"Yeah, definitely," Drouin said. "It's hard to say right now. I'm putting that stuff aside. I don't even want to talk about it. Right now I'm just focusing on my play, helping this team, and I'm sure everything's going to figure itself out at one point."

If Drouin continues to play well for Tampa, and with Stamkos potentially departing as a free agent in the summer, one has to wonder if there is some way Drouin and the Lightning could find a way to put their differences aside, and keep Drouin as a core component of the team going forward.
