Lightning's optimism on Ben Bishop's recovery takes a hit.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have expressed optimism that injured goaltender Ben Bishop will return, and in fact despite being carted off on a stretcher he has been listed as day to day in terms of his recovery.

With that said any hope that Bishop would be back in the short term was dashed when head coach Jon Cooper confirmed that the injured starting goaltender would not be available for Game 3 which is set to go just moments from now.

Obviously when you consider the fact that Bishop looked like he had suffered a season ending injury this isn't particularly bad news, but It's also an indication that perhaps the optimism that seemed to suggest he was just fine may have been premature.

We will continue to monitor his status and this series progresses.
