Linden: “We didn't interview any other candidates.”

In what some fans are pointing to as another clear example of management ineptitude, Vancouver Canucks president Trevor Linden admitted in his team’s appointment of Travis Green as head coach that the team did not interview any other candidates for the position.

Many arrows have been cast at Linden general manager Jim Benning in the three seasons that they’ve been at the helm in Vancouver, mostly due to their mismanagement of personnel and their mishandling of public relations.

While Green may indeed be the right hire for the Canucks, the team’s decision to not even consider anyone else can only be described as naive. If Green struggles behind the bench, you can expect Canucks fans to be calling for the head of Linden and Benning in short order.
