Lucky bounce and slick moves lead to goal!

Sometimes you just need a little luck on your side.

After having some pressure in the offensive zone, the Wild saw the Stars try to break out of their zone. Cody Eakin picked up the puck on the right side and tried to go cross ice with a pass. It ended up hitting Charlie Coyle and went right to Thomas Vanek who was all alone behind the Stars defense. The play remained onside and Vanek went in, made some nice moves on Stars goalie Antti Niemi and scored the eventual winning goal for the Wild.

You give Vanek that much time and space all alone and most time he will make you pay. The Wild went onto win 2-1 and it was a big two points earned against their divisional rivals.
