Lundqvist is a healthy scratch for the first time in his career

It is getting crowded in between the pipes in New York City as the Rangers are are currently carrying three goaltenders in Henrik Lundqvist, Alexandar Georgiev and Igor Shesterkin.

Lundqvist has been waiting on the side and he officially landed in the press box on Friday night as the Rangers visited the Hurricanes in Carolina. 

For the first time in his career, Lundqvist is a healthy scratch. 

It’s comforting to know that The King is watching the game with his mother, but what a hard decision for the veteran who’s been with the team for the past 15 years. 

We all wonder what is next for Lundqvist: will he get traded prior to Monday’s deadline or will he bought out by the Rangers this summer? 

Many fans would love for him to get picked up by a contender ahead of Monday so Lundqvist can get another shot at winning the Stanley Cup before he hangs up the pads.
