There is nothing bad to say about what young netminder Thatcher Demko has been able to pull off for the Vancouver Canucks in the past two games. In the absence of Jacob Markstrom, the 24-year-old has stopped all but one shot from the Vegas Golden Knights in two contests and has led his team to a do or die Game 7 taking place tonight.

But, critics have been loud about the goaltending situation for the Golden Knights and even former NHL goaltender Roberto Luongo shared his take on what’s happening in Vegas.

Why wasn’t Marc-Andre Fleury used in Game 6?

The Golden Knights are now in a pickle seeing that Robin Lehner, who has been favoured over the beloved Flower ever since the postseason started, did not play well in three of Vegas’ six games against the Canucks in their best-of-seven Western Conference semi-final series.

And so now what?

In games two, five, and six, Lehner made just 56 saves on 65 shots and all of the sudden the team is finally considering Fleury?! Lou does not think that is right and had this to say on social media about the chaos in between the pipes in Vegas.

“When you are up in a series but lose game 5. If there is any debate about starting the other goalie it should be done in game 6. Because you can always go back to your starter in game 7. Otherwise you are left with an impossible decision.”

Yeah, now head coach Pete DeBoer is stuck having to answer a very tough question in the next couple of hours.

Do or die Game 7 is later tonight and so time will tell which goalie gets the start.

This has been a mess in Vegas. Last week, NHL player agent Allan Walsh who decided it’d be a good idea to post a graphic image on social media, one that showed his client, Fleury being impaled by a gigantic looking sword. The blade had DeBoer’s name on it..This not only got a lot of players and pundits wondering why the agent did so, but also got the ball rolling on many rumours about Fleury’s future in Sin City.

This would be a good redemption for the Knights to trust Fleury at the most important time, however, will DeBoer make the risky move in order to advance to the Western Conference finals.
