Check out how it went down:

Joffrey Lupul disappeared from the Toronto Maple Leafs after undergoing sports hernia surgery back in February 2016 and hasn’t been heard from much publicly since.

On Wednesday, he was on the air with the gang from Spittin’ Chiclets and put it all out there on how his departure went down with the Leafs.

He became an unrestricted free agent July 1st, 2018, officially marking the end of his contract with the Leafs, but the chaos that went down beforehand was often spoken about in insiders’ circles… However, the veteran player knows it wasn’t all that crazy.

At this point, Lupul is 35 and hasn’t played in the NHL for three and a half seasons, so it seems unlikely he will be making a comeback in the NHL.

It is too bad, because if you forget about the injuries, the guy could play! He left the Leafs organization with 182 points (88 goals, 94 assists) in 282 games, spread out over six seasons. He only played 170 of a possible 410 games in that time.

In 705 NHL games, Lupul recorded 205 goals and 420 points.

We are happy to see he is not bitter about his departure and is focused on his life off the ice.
