Major controversy surrounding Golden Knights, forced to issue apology again

The Vegas Golden Knights Twitter account has made the rounds on social media as one of the more clever sports team accounts out there.

While they came out strong with a series of hilarious tweets, their Twitter game has cooled off considerably, drawing the ire and annoyance of several fans. Earlier this season, they posted a sexist tweet that caused a huge scandal - they were forced to retract the tweet and apologize for it.

They've struck again with a controversial tweet that could have caused several Nashville reporters to lose their credentials - and possibly their jobs.

Possibly a little known fact outside the journalism world - hockey reporters are not supposed to demonstrate any sign of loyalty to a team in the press box. For example, they cannot cheer a goal scored by the team they cover - to minimize any kind of "fan" bias and subjectivity in their writing.

After a Nashville goal, the Vegas Twitter account tweeted something that has since been deleted, and while on the surface seems harmless, could have been very destructive.

Luckily we have a screenshot, along with a reporter's criticism of it.

The Nashville chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers Association requested a public apology from the Vegas Golden Knights following the harmful tweet.

This is the second time this season that the social media account has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons - is it time they let this guy go?
