It doesn't look good.

Everybody is holding his breath right now in Toronto, as Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen left the game with what looks like an upper body injury after a crazy first period against the Buffalo Sabres

The team has confirmed he will not return tonight. Andersen stopped 14 of the 16 shots the Sabres fired at him, before being replaced by Curtis McElhinney in the second period.

If Andersen was to miss any significant time, it would be nothing less than disastrous for the Leafs, as they are actually in the middle of the playoffs race. They now sit in third place in the Atlantic division, three points ahead of the Boston Bruins. The Maple Leafs still have a game in hand.
