Praised veteran forward about to waive his no move clause

Few rumors were running around the league that Jason Pominville, veteran forward and former 30-goal scorer was about to wave is NMC.

Mike Russo from The Star Tribune met with Minnesota Wild GM and here’s what came out “Regarding Pominville and whether he has talked to him about his no-move yet, Fletcher said, ‘I’ve had a lot of thoughts on all these things. I’m not going to share the specifics of who I’m going to protect and what I’m going to ask players to do. At this point, there’s just lots of ideas and I think the important thing is just to go into the meetings next week with the coaches and the scouts and just build a consensus within our own group.

However, as stated by Russo, ‘if the Wild could get somebody like Pominville to waive his no-move, the Wild would be able to protect another forward.’ His name is running as a potential trade bait comes July 1st.

Jason Pominville played 905 games in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres and the Minnesota Wild. He scored 261 goals and registered 401 assists for a total of 662 points. The 6ft0, 187-pound right winger is a former second round pick (55 overall) of the 2001 NHL entry draft.
