Major update on the injured Mikko Koivu.

When we saw Minnesota Wild captain Mikko Koivu crash awkwardly into the boards earlier this week we feared for the worst, especially after reports revealed that Koivu needed to be taken to hospital for his injuries.

The good news however was that Koivu would return to Minnesota with the team after just a brief visit to the hospital, and would began the process of working through whatever injury he did suffer.

It appears Koivu has done just that, and the Wild's captain was spotted on the ice during Thursday's morning skate, a very welcomed sign for the Wild. There's even been some talk he may play tonight, although reports suggest the Wild will evaluate Koivu prior to the game before making that decision.
