It sounds like the Las Vegas Golden Knights may announce their next head coach much sooner than was originally expected.

The Golden Knights were expected to make an announcement after the playoffs or at the National Hockey League's Entry Draft but team owner Bill Foley admitted in a recent interview that those plans have changed.

"At this point, I'd say it's 50-50 we have our head coach in place before the season's over," Foley said as per the Las Vegas Review Journal.

TSN insider Bob McKenzie had previously stated that the Golden Knights had held talks with recently fired head coach Gerard Gallant and now many have speculated that the desire to sign Gallant is the motivation behind the accelerated timeline.

Bill Foley was asked point black during his interview with the Review Journal but as one would expect he didn't spill the beans.

“No comment. But I believe we’re going to get a very good coach.”
