Malone will not be suspended after dangerous hit on Foligno.

Brad Malone from the Carolina Hurricanes will not be suspended for his hit on Columbus Blue Jackets' Nick Foligno.

Foligno was placed on injured reserve this morning by Columbus. A direct result of the hit.

As you will see in the NHL's explanations, it is clear that Malone's hit, although it is dangerous because the Hurricanes' forward comes from the blind side, never targeted Foligno's head, and in fact, Malone never touched Foligno's head with any part of his body.

It is a violent hit, especially on slow motion when you can see the Jackets' captain's head whiplash, but it is a hockey hit.
