Maple Leafs and Habs release their official lineups.
Official lineups for tonight's matchup.
HockeyFeed
The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens are set to clash just minutes from now on Saturday night in what will be a battle between two of hockey's most rabid fan bases. The game is of tremendous importance to both teams as they look to secure a playoff spot moving forward, although admittedly at this stage of the season making the playoffs is a much more realistic outcome for the Leafs than the Habs.
Each side has at least one surprise in store for tonight's contest, as far as the lineups are concerned, with the Habs getting a huge piece back in the lineup and with the Maple Leafs showing some real faith in their newly acquired netminder. First here is the Habs official lineup for this evening, the first thing you will notice is the return of star forward Jonathan Drouin.
Forwards:
Tatar-Danault-Gallagher
Kovalchuk-Suzuki-Armia
Drouin-Domi-Lehkonen
Cousins-Thompson-Evans
Defensemen:
Chiarot-Mete
Kulak-Petry
Scandella-Ouellet
Meanwhile the Maple Leafs will be running a pretty standard line up in this one with the added surprise of Jack Campbell being named the starter in this one. The newly acquired Leafs netminder picked up his first one as a Maple Leaf on Friday night and it looks like head coach Sheldon Keefe intends to lean on him heavily with Campbell getting his second start in as many nights.
Forwards:
Johnsson - Matthews - Marner
Kerfoot - Tavares - Hyman
Clifford - Spezza - Kapanen
Engvall - Goat - Timashov
Defensemen:
Muzzin - Holl
Dermott - Barrie
Sandin - Liljegren
