One of the craziest tweets ever published by an agent who represents players in the National Hockey League was sent out by Allan Walsh on Saturday and created such an uproar that there is now legitimate talk about goaltender Las Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Marc Andre Fleury possibly getting traded in the coming weeks. It was a tweet that stunned hockey fans and pundits alike and it was made all the more surprising by the fact that Fleury, a player represented by the aforementioned Walsh, was completely silent following the shocking image sent out by his agent.

On Sunday Fleury finally spoke to the media to address the concerns raised by the actions of his agent and although he said the right things he certainly did not go out of his way to condemn the actions of his agent or even deny his involvement or knowledge of them prior to the image going public.

"Regarding that picture that came up, I just wanted to say that Allan has been my agent for a long time," said Fleury. I've known him since I was 15. I really appreciate his passion for the game. I think it was a way to defend me for not playing much, but I'm here to win with my team."

Fleury added that his attention, as you would expect, was entirely focused on winning the Stanley Cup with the Golden Knights at this time.

"Bottom line is we all want to win. That's why we're here. I don't like being a distraction for my team."

Again Fleury is saying the right thing here but I have my doubts about just how genuine his words are. The tweet from Walsh has now been removed and Fleury confirmed on Sunday that he was the one to ask Walsh to take it down, but the fact that it remained up for so long suggests to me that Fleury was on board with this move from his agent. All speculation on my part of course.

I can understand Fleury's frustration at being pushed aside in favor of Robin Lehner but if anything I think this entire fiasco has likely confirmed to the Golden Knights that they have chosen the right horse for this race.
