Marchand gets humiliated on social media
Twitter

You can hate Brad Marchand if you want - I feel like most hockey fans do, especially since he was caught licking some players last year to the point where the NHL had to tell him to stop.

However, he remains the Boston Bruins' top scorer in the playoffs, notching nine goals and 14 assists in 24 games.

And last night, he got his heart broken as the St. Louis Blues beat the Bruins to go on to win the first championship of their franchise’s history. In Boston.

To make things worse for Marchand - as if there weren’t bad already - he was somewhat blamed for the loss after he was caught on an awful line change as the Blues were on the attack, which directly led to the game-winning goal from captain Alex Pietrangelo.

On the ice as the Blues threw their gloves in the air and celebrated, Marchand was spotted crying his eyes out, which he kept doing as he faced media in the dressing room afterwards.

"It's a heartbreaker,” he added. "It's tough to describe. They just took our dream, our lifetime dream from us and everything we've worked for our entire lives. Sixty minutes away from that. You can't describe it."

Some fans - the very passionate ones who clearly can’t stand Marchand - decided to humiliate him even more on social media following the loss. If you have the heart, or the hate for Marchand, check some of them out:

There's the agony of defeat… and the thrill of it for others it seems...
