Marchand takes to social media to pump up Mitch Marner’s tires once again.

Last week Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand, who plays the villain or troll role perhaps better than anyone else in the NHL, gave out a rare compliment to an opposing player. Seemingly out of nowhere Marchand tweeted his appreciation for Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner.

In what Leafs general manager Kyle Dubas called a “master troll job”, Marchand tweeted out, in reference to Marner’s upcoming contract negotiations:

I cant wait to see this kids new deal... 12m AAV?? It better be

Earlier today Tampa Bay Lightning head coach Jon Cooper echoed Marchand’s appreciation for Marner calling him, “as smart a player as this league has not only seen this year, but has ever seen.”
