The Winnipeg Jets had a lot of reasons to tune in to the World Championship and a lot of eyes were undoubtedly watching the play of Patrik Laine, the projected second overall pick in the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft, a pick the Jets currently own.

There's no doubt that Laine impressed, after all he did earn MVP honors at the tournament, but one man got an up close and personal look at the young sensation, current Winnipeg Jet Mark Scheifele. Needless to say Scheifele while stating that there were mistakes, mistakes he attributed to youth, Laine definitely impressed him.

"He’s pretty unbelievable. He’s obviously young, and sometimes you can tell that, but his skill level [and] his shot is outrageous. He skates really well,” Scheifele said as per Sportsnet's Luke Fox.

Scheifele believes, as most do, that if the Jets do acquire Laine he will be a massive improvement for the club.

“You can tell he’s going to be a very special player,” Scheifele said. “I know if we end up getting him, he’ll definitely be a huge improvement to our team. He’ll fit in well for sure.”

And when asked whether or not he would like to play on the same line with the young man, his answer left little doubt.

"I like to think everyone can play with me," Scheifele half-joked, noting Laine's underrated vision and playmaking ability. "He also sees the ice really well. That's something people might overlook on him — that passing ability."
