In the lead up to “Sedin Week” in which the Vancouver Canucks will honour franchise legends Henrik and Daniel Sedin before retiring their jersey numbers forever the team has been re-introducing other fan favourites to share their favourite Sedin stories. This past weekend former Canucks captain Markus Naslund, who just so happens to have his #19 hanging from he rafters in Rogers Arena, made return to Vancouver to share some stories on CBC’s After Hours segment.

One story though without any Sedin connection has to be shared. Hockey fans will surely remember Naslund for having one of the best wrist shots in the entire world. His release was so smooth and he was so deadly accurate. At his peak Naslund rivalled superstar Joe Sakic in terms of wrist shot prowess. Yes… he was that good.

One thing hockey fans may not know however is that Naslund was the last NHL player to play with a full wooden stick. Check out this story of Nazzy talking about his stick and how a young Dany Heatley used it as an opportunity to chirp the Canucks legend:

Tough to come up with a comeback for that!
