Some strange news is coming up on Tuesday as it’s revealed that Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Auston Matthews was reportedly charged with disorderly conduct over the summer.

An official citation has been made public under the full name of Auston Taylour Matthews, stating that the young man was charged with disorderly conduct on July, 23rd of this year back in Scottsdale, Arizona, where Matthews is from.

The charge can be seen on Arizona Publlic Access. Besides the disorderly conduct charge, he also has a speeding ticket from 2016.

Police may use a disorderly conduct charge to keep the peace when people are behaving in a disruptive manner to themselves or others, but otherwise present no danger. It could have been that Matthews was playing music too loudly and a neighbour intervened to get officials involved.

It is also revealed that a PreTrial Conference is set for tomorrow morning 9:30 AM MST (12:30 PM EST) at the Scottsdale City Court. It is rare for the defendant to appear before the judge at a PTC unless a plea offer is entered.

Some people on social media are tweeting that Mitch Marner’s father, Paul Marner, was probably the one who leaked the information on Matthews getting charged with disorderly conduct.

Fans are also amused by his full name and his official initials: ATM. Others blame the cool moustache!

Make him captain now, some say? What do you think?
