On Friday night, during the All Star skills competition, Toronto Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews shocked the San Jose crowd when he revealed a Patrick Marleau jersey underneath his own, just before he was about to start the Accuracy Shooting Challenge.

It was quite unexpected and it moved the crowd, who gave the kid a standing ovation and celebrated his brilliant idea.

Now, the 21-year-old has had another one and it's as good as the one he had when he decided to put on his good friend Marleau's jersey that evening. Matthews has decided he wants to auction it off to put some money into the Leafs Foundation, as he explained to NHL.com

“I got the Sharks guys to sign it. I think we're going to auction it off for the Leaf Foundation and try to raise some money," Matthews said.
"I was expecting some sort of reception (when I revealed it) but nothing like that," Matthews said. "It really struck me inside. I got so nervous for the accuracy shooting that I butchered the whole thing. I think that's a testament to Patty and how much he meant to these people and these fans."
While Matthews ultimately didn’t win his competition — Boston Bruin's David Pastrnak took the title — he won the hearts of all the San Jose fans at SAP Center that night.

And we already know he has won the heart of Marleau and his family as they often hang out together. We are sure Marleau will be proud of Matthews for wanting to auction off his jersey and get money for a great cause.
