Max Domi to demand a trade out of Montreal?!

When Montreal Canadiens head coach Claude Julien refused to share his lineup changes ahead of his team’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night, everyone expected something huge.

While it turned out to be just Jake Evans replacing Jordan Weal on the fourth line, it was a huge message to forward Max Domi. According to former NHL coach and TVA Sports analyst Michel Bergeron, that should be the last straw for Domi, who cannot be back with a club that does not allow him to evolve as a top forward.

During the intermission of the contest the Habs shockingly ended up winning, Bergeron went off saying that Domi was done in Montreal. He believes it is unacceptable for one of the Canadiens’ best players to be pair with the worst and thinks it is too late for Julien to use Domi to his full potential.

“The time is now. You put Domi in Jonathan Drouin’s spot on the first line and you hope for the best! What makes it even worse is that general manager Marc Bergevin supports Julien’s lineup decisions. There is something going on with this team!” - Michel Bergeron

And clearly Bergeron believes Domi should leave it.

During the first period of last night’s game, Domi was the player with the least minutes of ice 5-on-5. We all know how talented of a forward Domi is, he who has performed very well in Montreal, putting up 72 points in 2018-19 with the club.

Will he want out of Montreal in order to get his deserved spot on a top line this offseason? Bergeron strongly believes he will, do you?
