Actions speak louder than words, and unfortunately on Tuesday, Edmonton Oilers fans didn’t hear the words that could reassure them on the condition of team captain Connor McDavid.

The superstar refused to answer questions about his knee. The brace around his left leg and the accompanying limp said it all…

McDavid was present at a promotional event as an ambassador for Canada Tire Jumpstart Charities in Toronto, and happily answered all the questions on the Oilers’ new addition in the front office and behind the bench, but no one could get him to say a word on his injury and his recovery.

The Oilers captain was seriously injured after crashing into a goal post during his team's season finale against the Calgary Flames on April 6.

While X-rays came back negative, the results of a subsequent MRI found a small tear in the knee's PCL ligament. McDavid did not require to undergo surgery, but it seems like recovery is taking a while.

McDavid sported a brace under his black pants, which appeared to be stretching from halfway up his calf to the mid-point of his thigh. You can see him limp around in this short video from Sportsnet:

There is still plenty of time for the Oilers’ captain to get better in the offseason, however, fans would like to know what’s going on as we move closer to the start of the 2019-20 season.
