McDavid scores a breakaway beauty, celebrates with referee

In case you missed it, the Edmonton Oilers got past the Arizona Coyotes 3-1 last night and… surprise, surprise, Oilers captain Connor McDavid led the charge.

The 21 year old superstar had two goals and an assist last night, bumping his totals up to 23 goals and 61 points in just 39 games so far this season.

Midway through the second period McDavid scored the game winner on a burst of speed breakaway, as he tucked the puck in behind Coyotes goaltender Adin Hill before crashing into the sideboards and the referee. Rather than apologize though, McDavid rolled with it and ended up embracing the ref in celebration.

Check it out:

Hmmm… this isn’t going to calm all the McDavid haters who say he gets special treatment from the officials.
