McKenzie: Jacob Trouba only has two choices.

One of hockey's top insiders believes that Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba may be out of options.

As most of you now know, Trouba made some very clear trade demands prior to the start of the season, and through his agent has repeated several times that his time in Winnipeg is at an end. The question now becomes how far is he willing to go to achieve that goal?

According to a report from TSN Bob McKenzie Trouba may be forced to sit out the entirety of the 2016-2017 National Hockey League season because it doesn't sound like teams are clamoring to get this deal done.  From McKenzie:

It's been dead quiet on the Trouba trade front. Other NHL teams with an interest in acquiring him do not feel the Jets are eager or perhaps even likely to trade the defenceman any time soon.

As a result McKenzie believes Trouba only has two realistic choices left.  One, he doubles down on his initial demands and remains on course, even if that means not playing this season. The second choice however is to swallow his pride, and accept the offer of $5.5 million per season from Winnipeg and rejoining his team, an offer McKenzie believes the Jets have left on the table. 

With the deadline for him to be signed one month away, there is relatively little time for that decision to be made.
