Must See: Stars’ Bishop reveals brutal injury from Friday’s head shot
Keystone Press

This past Friday night goaltender Ben Bishop made his Dallas Stars debut in front of a packed home crowd at American Airlines Center in Dallas. Unfortunately, the giant 6’7” tall goaltender barely made it through half the game before taking a snapshot from Vegas Golden Knights forward Reilly Smith

Check it out:

The shot sent Bishop down in  a heap with blood pouring out of his brow. It’s not known whether the puck managed to find its way through his mask, or if the impact of the puck simply created a pressure cut along Bishop’s eyebrow. Either way, the results are ugly. Check out the gash the goaltender will be sporting for the next while:

Yeesh. That’s nasty. No word on whether or not he’ll be ready to go for Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, but it’s worth noting that backup Kari Lehtonen got the start last night against the St. Louis Blues.
