The Toronto Maple Leafs have been publicly embarrassed by some rather crazy behavior from a member of their scouting staff.
According to a report from the Toronto Sun, Lindsay Hofford was arrested in New York after police claim that Lindsay got drunk, stole a gold cart of all things, took the aforementioned gold cart for a joy ride, and eventually crashed it into another vehicle.
It's unclear at this time if Hofford collided with a vehicle that was currently moving or stopped, however what we do know us that he made an attempt to flee the scene of his crime.
As a result of this incident Hofford is now facing charge of driving while intoxicated, unauthorized use of a vehicle without the owner’s consent, leaving the scene of an accident, making an unsafe lane change and refusing to take a breath test.
The Leafs have released a very brief statement about the incident:
“The Toronto Maple Leafs are aware of the charges against Lindsay Hofford. The club will have no further comment at this time,” the spokesman said.
