Milan Michalek scored one of those goals where you just want to watch it a second time.
He scored on a nice snipe after pulling a nasty toe drag to get around a diving defenseman while on a two on one. It was the type of example of how exactly you want to be able to do a toe drag. Even the Buffalo defenseman's reaction was great. It was kind of a "How do you expect me to stop that".
Michalek came to Toronto in the Dion Phaneuf trade and will be looked upon to bring some veteran leadership to a team that will be very young and without a lot of NHL experience in the coming years. He has one more year left on his contract after this season. Will he be around next season? That is yet to be determined but he can definitely help in teaching the young talented Maple Leaf forwards the ropes. If he is around next season, he will definitely be in a mentor role.
With his goal tonight, he showed he still has plenty of skill and can show the rookies a thing or two.
