Microphone breaks during national anthem in Edmonton, and then magic happens.

Playoff hockey is a time for bitter rivalries both old and new and often times those rivalries can go overboard resulting in both on-ice incidents and even sometimes altercations between fans.

On Sunday night however we were treated to just the opposite when an unfortunate accident turned into a message of unity and one of the most beautiful moments of the entire National Hockey League season.

After a microphone malfunctioned during the American national anthem, the fans in Edmonton did something truly magical when they united their voices to sing along for a foreign national anthem.

It was a moment every hockey fan can be proud of, and we salute all the fans in Edmonton who made this incredible moment a reality.
